Short answer: yes. Adults 21 and over can buy hemp-derived THC beverages in Connecticut from licensed retailers. Here is the slightly longer answer, and why it matters for what is in your cooler.
The federal layer
The 2018 Farm Bill drew a line between hemp and marijuana. Hemp is cannabis with no more than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC by dry weight. Products made from compliant hemp are federally legal to produce and sell. That is the layer most national brands rely on.
The Connecticut layer
Connecticut went further. The state pulled hemp-derived THC products under real oversight instead of leaving them in a gray zone. In practice that means:
- You must be 21 or older to buy. Every retailer checks ID.
- Products are sold through licensed and endorsed Connecticut retailers, including package stores. The Department of Consumer Protection oversees the category.
- Products carry serving and package THC limits, and every batch needs lab testing behind it.

Why the state line matters
